I’m Kalie Pham, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Inner Compass Therapy. I help couples and individuals move through stuck places in their relationships, emotions, and inner worlds so they can create the lives they long for.

My Approach

My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, integrating mindfulness, somatic awareness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you reconnect with both mind and body.

In addition to these modalities, I incorporate a solution-oriented, narrative, and systems perspective to help clients gain distance from what’s happening, understand the larger factors at play, and re-author their stories with clarity and intention. I believe that awareness, self-compassion, and understanding your patterns are the foundation for meaningful change. Our work will focus on helping you build insight and tools while strengthening your connection to yourself and those you care about.

Clients often describe me as warm, straightforward, and grounded. I bring humor and humanity into the room because therapy works best when it feels real. You can expect a space that’s nonjudgmental, affirming, and collaborative, where we work together to uncover what’s true for you and how to live more in alignment with it.

I’m sex-positive, kink-aware, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I welcome creatives, SWers, and those in the entertainment industry. Every person’s story deserves to be seen with curiosity and care.

Background & Training

I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, and my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Florida.

Before private practice, I worked in outpatient treatment settings supporting individuals living with anxiety, OCD, Tourette syndrome, and trauma-related concerns. My experience also includes coordinating clinical research at the University of South Florida’s Rothman Center for Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, where I helped evaluate treatment outcomes for anxiety and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Since becoming licensed, I’ve supported adults, couples, and teens through anxiety, grief, self-esteem challenges, and relationship distress, always with the goal of helping them feel more empowered, aware, and connected.

Couples/Relationships

Relationships can bring out both our deepest joy and our deepest pain. I work with couples who feel disconnected, stuck in familiar arguments, or unsure how to find their way back to each other after betrayal or distance.

Nothing is too big or too scary to bring into the room, whether it’s rebuilding after infidelity, navigating intimacy concerns, or wondering if you’ve become more like roommates than partners.

Together, we’ll look beneath the surface patterns to understand what’s really happening, shift how you approach conflict, and strengthen the emotional connection between you.

The goal isn’t perfection; it’s cultivating a relationship that feels like a well-tended fire: steady, warm, and enduring.

For Individuals

For individuals, I help you reshape your relationship with yourself. We’ll explore how your past experiences, internalized beliefs, and cultural or family narratives shape the way you see yourself and relate to others.

Our work might include identifying unhelpful thought patterns, understanding how emotions show up in your body, and learning tools to regulate your nervous system.

With curiosity and compassion, we’ll process pain, dismantle limiting stories, and build new ways of relating to yourself, your values, and your life.
